On 5 February 2026, the University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM) officially launched the Research on Sexual Harassment (RoSH) Initiative in Pointe aux Sables under the theme “From Data to Action: Building Safer Workplaces for All.”
The ceremony brought together distinguished stakeholders, including the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare, Mrs Marie Arianne Navarre-Marie; the Director General of UTM, Dr Dinesh Kumar Hurreeram; representatives of national institutions and industry bodies; and international partners, notably Dr Priti Prabhughate from the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI), who joined via videoconference.
The official unveiling of the project website, rosh-initiative.org , marked an important milestone, reinforcing the initiative’s commitment to transparency, collaboration and the dissemination of evidence-based knowledge.
Grant Approval: The RoSH Initiative has received funding approval from the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) under the "Knowledge for Action to End Violence Against Women and Violence Against Children" program.
